Dr. Tracy Cassagnol is the founding Faculty Lead for our lab and an Assistant Professor of Anatomy at FIU HWCOM. Her area of expertise is anatomy instruction and she is passionate about innovation in medical education.

Nicholas Liautaud is a senior engineering student who serves as the Engineering Lead for our lab. He is a founding member of the lab with a passion for 3D printing and biomedical engineering. Nicholas develops the strategic engineering plans for the lab and coordinates our efforts between the medical and engineering teams.

Ryan Romero is a third year medical student at HWCOM (Class of 2026) aspiring to pursue a career in Psychiatry. Ryan has a background in 3D printing and serves as the liaison between our Engineering and Medical Team.

Nicholas Denove is a third year medical student at FIU HWCOM (Class of 2026) aspiring to pursue a career in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery. Nick has an engineering background and is excited to be able to integrate medicine and engineering in the lab. He leads our CIAL Osteo Medical Team.

Craig Warlen is third year medical student at FIU HWCOM(Class or 2026) aspiring to pursue a career in Surgery. Craig has an engineering background and serves on our CIAL Osteo Team as both an engineering and medical advisor for team members.

Alexander Rodriguez is a third year medical student at FIU HWCOM (Class of 2026) aspiring to pursue a career in Orthopedic Surgery. Alex serves to our CIAL Osteo Team.

Professor Ferdinand Gomez serves on our Advisory Board and brings his extensive experience in anatomy instruction to our efforts. At FIU HWCOM, Mr. Gomez serves as the Director of the Human Anatomy Laboratory.

Past Members

Rania Bauduy was an engineering intern within our lab during the Summer of 2025. She and her team spearheaded our e-NABLE prosthetics project, as well as our ongoing partnership with hospitals in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and Lambarene, Gabon. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

Matheo Taluy was an engineering intern within our lab during the Summer of 2025. He and his team spearheaded our e-NABLE prosthetics project, as well as our ongoing partnership with hospitals in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and Lambarene, Gabon.

Jake Gomez was an engineering intern within our lab during the Summer of 2025. He and his team spearheaded our e-NABLE prosthetics project, as well as our ongoing partnership with hospitals in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and Lambarene, Gabon. He hopes to pursue a career in medicine.

Nicole Koutras is a former HWCOM (Class of 2025) student who served as a medical student collaborator in our lab. Part of her work at CIAL was focused on adding clinical context and academic learning to our horseshoe kidney model.

Mitchel Lacey is a former HWCOM (Class of 2025) student who served as a medical student collaborator in our lab. Part of his work at CIAL was focused on adding clinical context and academic learning to our models.

Christelle Azolin is a former FIU HWCOM (Class of 2024) student and founding member of the lab who is passionate about innovation in the care of patients. Part of her work at CIAL was most focused on the creation of a novel teaching tool for the Ob/Gyn Clerkship. She is currently a Ob/Gyn resident at Jackson Health System.

Christian Cazzaniga is an engineer with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree and brings his engineering experience and passion for the fine arts to our work. Christian is interested in the creation of models to enhance student learning.

Natalie Olivier is a summer arts in medicine intern within our lab. She is a high school senior who aspires to pursue a career in medicine, and is excited to apply her talents to the work in our lab.

Imani Hans-Ngalame was an engineering in medicine intern within our lab during his senior year of high school. He is currently an undergraduate engineering student at University of Central Florida.

Sophia Liautaud was an intern within our lab during her sophomore year of college and served as our Marketing Intern. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communications at the University of Central Florida.
